Achievements we have made 2017

In term 2 DNC - Dance Northland College attended STAGE CHALLENGE whangarei, which was the first time in the last 10years. The group came home with 3 awards which was really exciting and uplifting for our students here at NC. AWARDS placed third in their Performance and Stage use. Also awarded environmental and Social awareness.

In term 2 DNC performed at The DDF Dance Concert in Kerikeri - outside of school event, to help build their confidence through their performance also receiving 4credits for one of their assessments .

Students in DNC have had Identity Dance Crew come in and hold a dance workshop in the hall one weekend, to help gain credits by learning from a guest choreographer. This group were the best adult dance crew in the world 2016. This was exciting and a great way to also inspire our students here at NC.This also helped raise funds to go towards their stage challenge performance.







DNC were special guest performers at a dance competition held at the Memorial Hall in Kaikohe organised through Sport Northland. The Students were paid which help go towards funds for their stage challenge and also were given a feed which they were very pleased about.

DNC have gained credits for all of the above events making learning a fun experience to help them want to learn and gain what is expected of them here in our dance class at Northland College.

Welcome to Northland College Dance Class 2017 here is a brief description of who I am
 My Name is Alannah Curtis I am from Kaikohe and the dance teacher for 2017.
I have my AUT Maori Contemporary Performing Arts Cert and also the founder, owner/operator ahead choreographer of DDF dance studios est 2008. I have worked internationally and Nationally.

I am teaching juniors and seniors.
